⚡ Auto Mode

Auto Mode lets FlowChat's AI models decide for themselves when to use a tool — instead of forcing a tool call on every message.

Overview​

When Auto Mode is enabled, capabilities like web search are made available to the model via native function calling. The model calls them only when it determines they're actually needed for your request — not on every turn.

⭐ Why it matters​

🎯 Relevant, not forced​

Ask something conversational and the model just answers. Ask something that needs current information, and it searches — automatically, without you needing to toggle a tool on manually first.

⚙️ Native Function Calling​

Auto Mode is implemented through native function calling, so tool use is a decision the model makes as part of generating its response, not a separate forced pre-step.

How to enable​

To enable Auto Mode, navigate to the New Chat page and open the Integrations and Tools section. Toggle Auto Mode on to let the model decide when to invoke tools like web search.
